Eco-Patrol Service to Operate in Armenia from 2024, Says Hakob Simidyan
The Eco-Patrol service will be operational in Armenia starting in 2024. This announcement was made today by the Minister of Environment, Hakob Simidyan, during a press conference. The law will come into effect on January 1.
“Establishing such a service was a provision anticipated with the amendment of the Forest Code in 2005. After many years of efforts, we finally adopted the law in 2023,” said Simidyan.
The minister noted that while it was initially planned for the service to operate only in forest areas, due to the development of the law, the service will also function in specially protected areas of nature. This means that there will be 24-hour supervision in these places to reduce illegal activities.
“In the spring, training sessions will begin, after which the service personnel will be able to start working,” he added.
