After a Year and a Half Break, the U.S. Resumes Oil Imports from Russia
The U.S. has imported its first batch of oil from Russia in October 2023, after a year and a half hiatus, according to an analysis of data from the American statistical service. As reported by RIA Novosti, in October of last year, the U.S. acquired 36,800 barrels of oil from Russia, totaling $2.7 million in value. In November, American companies imported Russian oil again, this time 9,900 barrels valued at $750,000. In both cases, the fuel was purchased for consumption.
Earlier, media reports indicated that over the past 11 months, Russia has drilled oil wells with a total depth of 28,100 kilometers, and at the current drilling pace, Russia could exceed its post-Soviet record.
