US Rejects Israeli Officials' Proposal to Expel Palestinians from Gaza
The United States has rejected the statements made by Israeli officials calling for the resettlement of Palestinians outside the borders of Gaza. This was stated by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
According to him, Palestinians should be able to return home when conditions permit. “We reject the calls from certain Israeli ministers and legislators urging the resettlement of Palestinians outside of Gaza,” Blinken said during a joint press conference with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
Previously, the US, France, Germany, and the UK had already expressed their opposition to the Israeli authorities' statements regarding the necessity of expelling Palestinians from Gaza. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell condemned the statements made by Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich regarding the resettlement of Gaza residents.
