Hajiev: The Term 'Corridor' Shouldn't Scare Armenia, It Will Not Divide The Country
“We do not view transportation through Armenian territory as a threat to the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia or to Armenian-Iranian relations,” stated Hikmet Hajiev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan for foreign policy affairs, in an interview with the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung.
He emphasized that Armenia should not be afraid of the term “corridor.” “The term ‘corridor’ should not scare Armenia, as it is widely used in the context of transportation routes. This transportation link will not deprive Armenia of its border with Iran; it will not divide the country into two parts,” he noted.
