US Advises Ukraine to Forget About Regaining Territories
Ukraine is unlikely to achieve success regarding the return of territories in the near future. This was reported by the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal. The information is conveyed by lenta.ru.
The publication advised Ukrainian authorities to forget about their "stubborn desire" to return to the 2014 borders. The article notes that the events of the past year have clearly demonstrated that it is impossible to reach this goal in the near term, even if the West restores military support to Kyiv.
WSJ also recalled the Ukrainian Armed Forces' failures in counteroffensives and suggested that Kyiv may have to come to a peace agreement with Russia.
Last September, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented his peace plan during a meeting of the UN Security Council (UNSC), which consisted of two demands. According to the politician, his plan includes the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory at the 1991 borders, as well as a return of control to Kyiv over the entire state border and the exclusive economic zones of the Black and Azov Seas along with the Kerch Strait.
