‘Their Problem Is Completely Different’: Sergey Lavrov
The Western countries do not seek to bring peace and stability to Armenia and the South Caucasus in general; their issue is to push Moscow out. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview with TASS.
“Today, Armenia is facing a number of challenges. Moreover, with the assistance of Western players, it will not be possible to reduce them. The US and the EU, contrary to Russia, do not seek to bring peace and stability to the republic and the South Caucasus as a whole,” noted the Russian minister.
Lavrov stated, “Their problem is completely different – to oust Moscow and other regional powers and to create a new hotspot of tension after the Balkans, the Middle East, and Ukraine.”
At the same time, as emphasized by the Russian Foreign Minister, the exit from the complex situation is clear: to implement the trilateral agreements between Yerevan, Baku, and Moscow at a high level.
