Unfortunately, We See What This Has Led To: Zakharova
There are no prospects for de-escalation of the crisis in the Middle East; Russia is doing everything possible to prevent its spread to other countries. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a press briefing. The information was reported by TASS.
The diplomat noted that the United States has increased its presence in the region in various directions—military, political, and financial—with many plans in place.
"Unfortunately, we see what this has led to—a terrible crisis that has been unfolding before our eyes since October 7. There is no prospect for an imminent end or at least de-escalation of the situation. Everything now balances on whether, God forbid, this crisis will expand further. And everything is being done on our part, including to prevent that from happening," she stated.
Zakharova also drew attention to how the U.S. has been increasing its presence in the Middle East. According to her, this has been manifested through attacks on countries, aggression against sovereign regional states, interference in internal affairs, color revolutions, arms supplies, and manipulation of conflicts in the region.
