Video: Explosion in Guinea Leaves Over 100 Injured
An explosion occurred at a fuel depot in the capital of Guinea, Conakry, resulting in at least eight fatalities and injuring 84 people. These figures are preliminary reports. There are also reports of at least 100 individuals affected.
The explosion took place at night in the Kaloum district, where government buildings are located. The cause has not been disclosed, but the site of the explosion is alarming. It has been reported that "checkpoints have been established and emergency vehicles and law enforcement are patrolling the area."
Fearing a potential fuel crisis, many drivers have gathered near gas stations to stock up on fuel. Additionally, state and private sector employees, except for defense and security forces as well as healthcare workers, have been advised to remain at home. It is also noteworthy that educational institutions are closed.
