UK to Impose Sanctions on Suppliers of Military Equipment to Russia
The United Kingdom is set to announce on Wednesday that it will impose sanctions on foreign individuals and legal entities supplying equipment and components to Russia for potential military purposes, according to the UK Foreign Office.
“Foreign suppliers exporting equipment and components to Russia will be among dozens of individuals and groups subjected to sanctions,” the ministry stated. It clarified that the sanctions will target those “military suppliers” providing necessary resources for Russia to continue its military defense.
The announcement of the sanctions is included in a press release by the UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron regarding his visit to the United States, which is scheduled for Wednesday. As noted by the Foreign Office, the trip aims to “affirm the strength of the UK’s relationship with its closest strategic ally, as well as our ongoing support for Ukraine.”
