Azerbaijan Announces Restoration of Hadrut's St. Hovhannes Church as Agvankan
The State Council for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Artsakh has announced that Azerbaijan has declared its intention to restore the St. Hovhannes Church in Hadrut as Agvankan. According to the newly developed master plan for the city of Hadrut, archaeological excavations will be conducted soon, after which the church will be restored. A museum representing the 'Agvankan' culture is also planned to be established within the church.
It is noteworthy that the St. Hovhannes Church is located in the southwestern part of Hadrut city, which is the administrative center of the Hadrut region of the Republic of Artsakh.
