Azerbaijan Sends Criminal Case Materials Against Armenian Captive to Serious Crimes Court
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case against reservist Gagik Voskanyan, detained in the occupied Karvachar in August of this year, has been completed in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani media report that the materials related to the criminal case have been sent to the serious crimes court.
Previously, the Azerbaijani prosecutor's office announced the initiation of criminal proceedings against reservist Gagik Voskanyan and his subsequent detention. On August 16, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia stated that the reservist had reportedly left his combat position voluntarily. On August 18, an Azerbaijani court unlawfully detained Voskanyan. Azerbaijan has fabricated several charges against Voskanyan, as well as other Armenian captives, in its traditional style.
