US Strikes Armory in Eastern Syria
The head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, has announced that US Air Forces have struck an armory belonging to Iran-backed groups in eastern Syria, in response to ongoing missile attacks on American forces in the region.
According to him, the strike was carried out by two F-15 fighter-bombers. As reported by РИА Новости, this marks the second operation in response to approximately four dozen attacks on US troops and bases in Iraq and Syria.
Earlier, gunfire was directed at American military personnel at a military base located in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province. The Pentagon has also acknowledged that an American MQ-9 Reaper drone was shot down by Houthi forces near the shores of Yemen.
