10 Arrested on Suspicion of Disorder Outside the Artsakh Representation Building
10 individuals have been arrested on suspicion of disorder outside the Artsakh representation building, and a criminal case has been initiated. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
The investigation is being conducted by the Arabkir Division of the Investigative Committee of Yerevan to clarify the circumstances of public hooliganism, the use of violence, as well as theft that occurred on October 20 in front of the Artsakh representation building in Yerevan with the participation of a group of individuals.
On October 20, a report was received regarding scuffles among individuals gathered in the yard of the Artsakh representation building in Yerevan, where one person was assaulted in multiple areas of the body, damage was caused to a nearby 'Toyota' vehicle, and a large amount of money was stolen from the vehicle's compartment under unknown circumstances, along with a mobile phone and state license plate being taken.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated based on Article 195, Part 2, Point 1 of the RA Criminal Code (inflicting violence against an individual, or their close relatives or acquaintances in connection with their official, political, professional, or social activities), Article 297, Part 2, Point 1 (committing hooliganism by a group of individuals), and Article 254, Part 2, Points 2 and 4 (theft of a large amount from the victim's body, clothing, bag, or other objects), and Article 456, Part 1 (theft, extortion, destruction, damage, or concealment of documents, seals, stickers, or vehicle license plates). An investigation team has been formed, and one individual, identified as K. Sh., has been recognized as a victim.
Several individuals from the scene were taken to the police station by law enforcement, then presented to the prosecuting authority. A decision has been made to arrest 10 individuals based on direct reasonable suspicion of committing criminal acts.
The pre-trial investigation continues. The police have been instructed to carry out operational and investigative measures to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
Notice: An individual charged with a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty by a legally binding judgment of the court in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
