Israel Strikes Monument to Iranian General Soleimani in Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces have carried out an airstrike on the monument to Iranian General Qasem Soleimani located in Lebanon, according to the Jerusalem Post.
“On Wednesday evening, an airstrike targeted the monument to Qasem Soleimani, the former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Quds Force, situated in southern Lebanon,” the publication reports, citing the Lebanese channel Al-Mayadeen.
In turn, the Israel Defense Forces announced on their Telegram channel on Thursday evening that they had “struck terrorist targets belonging to Hezbollah in Lebanon.”
According to Jerusalem Post, Lebanese media also reported on an Israeli airstrike near Naqoura, just north of Rosh Hanikra. Subsequently, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed that “in the past few hours, the Israel Defense Forces have struck Hezbollah-related targets along the border with Lebanon.”
This action was stated to be a response to attacks that occurred on Wednesday. “The targeted sites included a observation point from which anti-tank missiles were launched towards Rosh Hanikra,” Israeli military officials reported.
