Paris and Yerevan to Formalize Agreements on French Arms Tomorrow: French Defense Minister
French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu has stated that Paris and Yerevan will formalize agreements regarding the purchase of French weapons, particularly in the field of air defense, on Sunday. This was reported by РИА Новости, referencing Le Parisien.
“It is necessary to allow Armenia to protect its civilian population and ensure the defense of its borders. Tomorrow we will officially formalize the acquisition of a certain quantity of armaments from French producers by Armenia, particularly with the signing of a contract that will enable the country to secure its air defense,” he said.
It is worth noting that earlier in October, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan stated that Yerevan needs a new military partner and is discussing military assistance with France.
