Steve Scalise Nominated for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives
Republicans have nominated Steve Scalise for the position of Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. This was reported by The Hill. The 58-year-old politician serves as the House Republican Majority Leader.
The Speaker's chair has been vacant since Kevin McCarthy was removed from office. It is worth noting that on June 14, 2017, Scalise was injured by a terrorist attacking those opposing Donald Trump and underwent treatment until nearly the end of September.
