The Possibility for the Armenian People of Artsakh to Live by Their Rights is at Risk: Colonna
After several weeks of accumulating a large number of troops and ammunition at the border, Azerbaijan has decided to launch a large-scale military operation, and no one can believe that this action was unpremeditated. This statement was made by the French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna during an emergency session of the UN Security Council regarding the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
She stated that France calls on Azerbaijan to exercise restraint and respect international law, adding that as a result of Azerbaijan's military actions, people have been killed, including civilians and children. “It is not Azerbaijan's territorial integrity that is being questioned here; there is no threat to it. What is at risk is the possibility for the Armenian people of Nagorno-Karabakh to live by their rights, with respect for their history and culture,” Colonna remarked. She emphasized that such a possibility does not exist when the stronger side uses force against the weaker.
