Increase in Gas Prices in Russia Cannot Help but Reflect in Armenia: Central Bank President

The increase in gasoline prices in the Russian Federation cannot fail to be reflected in Armenia. This was stated today, September 12, at a press conference by the President of the Central Bank of Armenia, Martin Galstyan.

Gasoline prices in Russia have already reached record levels, with the price of one ton of diesel fuel in the St. Petersburg stock exchange reaching 71,000 rubles, while the price of 'regular' gasoline exceeds 67,600 rubles. Prices have increased by several dozen percent over the past year.

'This increase cannot fail to be reflected in Armenia since most of the gasoline is supplied from Russia. At the same time, gasoline is one of the 470 products used to measure inflation. Naturally, not everything can become cheaper simultaneously, but overall we expect a decrease in inflation,' noted Galstyan.
