German Fertilizer Producers Stop Their Operations: Bild
German fertilizer producers are halting their operations, according to Bild.
The reason is that fertilizer production in Germany is becoming unprofitable due to the supply of cheaper fertilizers from Russia, which are not subject to sanctions.
German farmers continue to use Russian fertilizers, the export of which is not covered by the sanctions imposed by Western countries. The rejection of cheap Russian gas has become a significant problem for German fertilizer manufacturers, with gas prices rising by up to 40%, and the production cost of fertilizers increasing by as much as 150% in some cases.
