MPH to Initiate Proceedings if Unjustified Increases in Gasoline Prices Are Detected
The spokesperson for the Commission for the Protection of Competition, Ani Smbatyan, has addressed the reports regarding the rise in gasoline prices in the market. This has been reported by the MPH.
She stated that the MPH is currently conducting a study to clarify the justification for the increase in gasoline prices.
“Preliminary studies have indicated that price increases have also occurred in international markets. If instances of unjustified price increases are uncovered during the study, the Commission will initiate appropriate administrative proceedings,” the statement said.
Ani Smbatyan added that the Commission conducts daily monitoring in various markets of socially significant goods. In cases where the price of goods changes by more than 5 percent and these changes do not correspond to external factors, a preliminary study is initiated.
