«Azerbaijan prohibits flour entry into Artsakh while also preventing collection of own wheat» - Marukyan
The Azerbaijani armed forces are holding the only wheat field of the Sarushen community in Nagorno-Karabakh under fire, depriving residents of the opportunity to have bread. This was reported by the Armenian ambassador-at-large Edmon Marukyan on his Twitter blog, indicating that this means Azerbaijan is not allowing humanitarian goods such as flour and other essential food items sent from Armenia to enter Nagorno-Karabakh. At the same time, they are firing on peaceful villagers to prevent them from harvesting the wheat they have grown and baking bread.
“The humanitarian aspect of this issue is simply a consequence of Azerbaijan's policy of ethnic cleansing, and the main problem is that Azerbaijan is using all means to cleanse peaceful people from their homeland, where they have lived for centuries. The international community seems to want to suggest that it is either unwilling to ensure that the people living in Nagorno-Karabakh can harvest wheat from the fields for baking bread or to secure the delivery of the flour, which has been blocked in the Lachin corridor for the third week now,” he stated.
