VIDEO: What Right Do You and Your Team Have to Decide the Fate of Ancient Artsakh? Journalist Asks Pashinyan
The Prime Minister continues to respond to questions from journalists. One journalist posed a question to Nikol Pashinyan: "When you came to power, you stated that power belongs to the people and any issue should be discussed with the people. Now you declare that you recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, including Artsakh. What right do you and your team have to decide the fate of ancient Artsakh?"
The journalist also inquired why a referendum was not conducted to ascertain whether the people agree to the recognition of Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan. Nikol Pashinyan responded: "Well, what are we doing now? Of course, with all due respect to all media outlets, one of the important purposes of press conferences of this genre is to have discussions with the people. This is also a discussion with the people," said Nikol Pashinyan.
He continued, "Well, when I answer different questions live for 6-7 hours in a committee, and I talk about certain facts and arguments, what is that about? That too is a discussion with the people. After all, I also said recently that we do not believe that we can decide the fate of the people of Artsakh. That's why we think that the fate of Artsakh should be decided by Artsakh itself," he added.
