Video: Mr. Pashinyan, are you not afraid that one day your favored judges will enforce your verdict?
Currently, a press conference is taking place with Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During the conference, a journalist asked, “You, Mr. Pashinyan, referred to judges as timid ones waiting for orders. Now, to prevent the implementation of the rulings you desire, you are removing judges. Honestly, how would you characterize the behavior of the government from the perspective of the opposition Nikol Pashinyan? Ultimately, are you not afraid that one day your 'favored judges' will be the ones reading your verdict?”
In response, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed this question today, July 25, during his press conference.
“I am not afraid; I have a great aspiration for justice and realize that if I have done something that deserves to be examined by my favored or unfavored judges, it will inevitably be examined,” emphasized Nikol Pashinyan.
The Prime Minister candidly stated, “We have never hidden that we are going through a very difficult path of reforms in the judicial system. We don’t have significant successes there.”
Pashinyan also underlined that there is an independence issue within our judicial system. “Who doesn’t know about this? I can tell you what the government is doing to achieve independence within the judicial system. We are raising judges' salaries so that they can have a higher level of social protection,” he said.
