The Only Way to Avoid Tragedy is Recognition of the Independence of the Republic of Artsakh: Tovmasyan
The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh, Arthur Tovmasyan, addressed the leaders of friendly countries' parliaments in an official message. This was reported by the National Assembly of Artsakh.
Expressing his respect on behalf of the Artsakh Parliament, he made a request for support regarding the crucial issue of recognizing the independence of the Republic of Artsakh.
Noting that the dangers threatening the safety of the peaceful population of Artsakh have not diminished, but have significantly increased since the 44-day war in 2020 and the signing of the trilateral declaration, Arthur Tovmasyan presented the most serious existential threats facing the country. He assessed the current situation as a risk of dispossession for the Armenians of Artsakh, who find themselves in complete blockade, and in this regard, he alerted the international community.
The head of the Artsakh Parliament is deeply convinced that the only way to avoid tragedy is the recognition of the independence of the Republic of Artsakh, based on the principle of ‘Recognition for Salvation.’
He assured his colleagues that there are all necessary grounds for recognition and presented the most important among them.
Tovmasyan expressed confidence that recognition of the Republic of Artsakh by the member states of the UN would provide a reliable guarantee of security for the Armenian population, contribute to the creation of favorable conditions for their normal living in their historical homeland, and also ensure stability and long-term, steadfast peace in the South Caucasus region.
