Pentagon Reports on Military Aid Provided to Ukraine Since the Start of the War
Under President Joe Biden, the volume of American military aid to Ukraine has exceeded $40.7 billion, with $40 billion allocated since the beginning of the Russian special military operation, the Pentagon reported on Tuesday.
"In total, since the beginning of the Biden administration, the United States has negotiated more than $40.7 billion in aid to ensure Ukraine's security, including more than $40 billion since February 24, 2022," the Pentagon's statement noted.
It was also reported today that the U.S. is donating 15 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and 10 Stryker armored personnel carriers to Ukraine as part of a new aid package.
Russia has sent a note to NATO countries over the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that NATO countries are "playing with fire" by supplying weapons to Ukraine. The Kremlin has stated that the supply of weapons to Ukraine from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have negative consequences.
Lavrov also claimed that the U.S. and NATO are directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict, "including not only the supply of weapons but also the training of personnel... in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and other countries."
