NATO Forces Encircle Urban Buildings in Kosovo
NATO's contingent (KFOR) has blockaded the entrances to urban buildings in the northern part of Kosovo. This has been reported by an online portal in Kosovo, as noted by gazeta.ru.
On Monday morning, several hundred people gathered near local government buildings in the northern region, demanding the withdrawal of Kosovo police and the recall of newly elected Albanian mayors.
According to online reports from Kosovo, a significant number of KFOR troops, equipped with riot control gear, are deployed near the municipal buildings in Zvecan, Leposavic, and Zubin Potok, where Serbs make up over 95% of the population. It has been noted that large contingents of Kosovo police are positioned behind them, preventing Kosovo Serbs from approaching the buildings.
The most tense situation is reported in Zvecan, where protesters have attempted to force their way to the city hall, but police have intervened to stop them.
Earlier, Serbia's Defense Minister Milos Vucevic declared that tensions in Kosovo have reached a peak and could escalate into armed conflict. He also mentioned the deployment of the military near the administrative line with Kosovo, emphasizing that the Serbian side does not wish to engage in war games.
