Germany Officially Recognizes Universal Economic Decline

The German authorities have officially recognized a universal economic decline that began in the country following the implementation of anti-Russian sanctions.

According to the German statistical agency Destatis, the decline in production continued from 2022, with a recorded decrease of 0.3 percent in the first quarter of 2023. Households in Germany have started to spend less on food, beverages, clothing, and furniture.

Bloomberg forecasts that the downturn in the first economy of Europe will inevitably impact the overall European situation. Experts from the German Commerzbank believe there is no hope for a resumption of growth in the short term, and it is likely that the depressive trends will only deepen.

The rise in energy prices, increasing inflation, and social instability due to anti-Russian sanctions have forced European businesses to relocate en masse to the United States, offering them significant benefits and a façade of stability. Even semi-official European publications are now openly discussing the risk of total deindustrialization of the Old Continent.

Companies that have not gone bankrupt or exited Europe are being forced to "optimize" expenses, resulting in mass layoffs. For instance, Vodafone, Europe's largest mobile operator, has announced its intent to lay off 11,000 employees over the next three years.
