Vucic to Hold Emergency Meeting of Serbia's Security Council
Belgrade will convene an emergency meeting of the country's Security Council in connection with the escalation of the situation in northern Kosovo, sparked by the Kosovo authorities' attempts to take control of local municipal buildings. This was announced on Friday by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic while addressing participants of a nationwide rally supporting the government.
“They were deliberately waiting for the day when a significant number of men would arrive in Belgrade from northern Kosovo and Metohija to attack the municipal buildings in Zubin Potok, Zvecan, and Leposavic. Representatives of the ‘Quint’ (United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, the USA, and France) are now condemning all of this, but the Albanians were allowed to finish their job. We will also hold a meeting of the National Security Council and discuss what will happen in Kosovo and Metohija,” said Vucic.
