Armenian Side Responds Positively to Proposal of Opening Russian Consulate in Kapan
The Armenian side has responded positively to the proposal of opening a Russian consulate in the city of Kapan, located in the Syunik Province. This information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
A decision has been made to avoid lengthy state procedures for the opening of the consulate, which would take at least a year, and instead pursue a simplified approach.
“The Armenian side had informed the Russian side of its agreement back in April,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
Earlier, during a Russian-Armenian expert roundtable in Moscow, Sergey Paltov, Deputy Director of the Fourth Department for the CIS countries of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, mentioned that during the meeting between Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Putin on May 25 in Moscow, the Armenian side had approved the opening of a Russian consulate in Syunik.
