City Council member Ernest Avanesyan addressed the waste issue during the council meeting on May 23, stating: “There are many incidents, we have a problem with the landfill: there were investors from abroad, not related to Yerevan, even people from outside Yerevan wanted to establish a waste management facility related to recycling, but when I discussed it with people, it turned out that there were plenty of investors, but roads were blocked for those people. In this context, we have the cholera that we have been breathing for a few days. In the car, simply those pieces have turned black.”
