EU Regrets Tbilisi's Decision to Resume Air Travel with Russia

The European Union expresses regret over Tbilisi's decision to resume air travel with Russia. Reports from Brussels indicate that such actions "raise concerns regarding Georgia's European path," suggesting that EU membership is not anticipated in the near future.

Meanwhile, Georgian Airways has announced flights to Moscow starting from May 20. The Georgian airline will operate flights to the Russian capital seven times a week.

It should be noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has lifted the visa regime with Georgia effective May 15, as well as removed the ban on direct flights from Russian airlines to Georgia. The Russian Ministry of Transport has announced that Russian airlines are preparing to resume flights to Georgia, with plans for seven direct flights every week from Moscow to Tbilisi and vice versa.
