10 People Killed in Armed Attack in Ecuador

Unidentified assailants attacked a car manufacturing facility in Guayaquil, located in western Ecuador. The information was reported by Reuters, citing police and prosecutors.

At the scene, a rifle and 9mm handguns were discovered, according to the Ecuadorian Attorney General's office on its Twitter account.

“Our investigative and intelligence units are currently conducting operational actions to identify the perpetrators,” the National Police wrote on Twitter.

The Ecuadorian government declared a state of emergency in Guayaquil and surrounding areas at the beginning of April to curb the rising violence in the Pacific port city. This measure includes a curfew from 1:00 AM to 5:00 AM.
