Turkish Aircraft Shot at in Sudan

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense has confirmed that a C-130 evacuation aircraft was shot at in Sudan, with no injuries reported among the crew.

Earlier, the Sudanese army had posted on social media about the incident, stating that the Turkish Air Force aircraft involved in the evacuation was damaged by gunfire while landing at a military airport in the area north of Khartoum. One crew member was reported to have been wounded.

“Our C-130 evacuation aircraft, which was on its way to Wadi Saydna Airport to evacuate our citizens, was fired upon with small arms. The aircraft successfully landed. Our crew was not harmed,” the statement from the Turkish military authority on Twitter read.

It should be noted that fighting has been ongoing in Sudan since April 15 between the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohammed Daglo and the regular army.
