Video: Some Azerbaijanis Invaded a Vehicle, Artsakh Ombudsman on Blocked Residents
The Ombudsman of Artsakh, Gegham Stepanyan, has provided details regarding the residents of Artsakh who were stranded on their way from Goris to Stepanakert.
According to Stepanyan, 27 civilians, including the elderly, children, and persons with disabilities, separated from their families for several months, were traveling from Goris towards Stepanakert around 3:30 PM on April 4, under an agreement reached with the Russian side and accompanied by Russian peacekeepers.
“Despite the preliminary agreement regarding their return, Azerbaijani government agents, posing as 'eco-activists', blocked the passage of vehicles transporting civilians by Russian peacekeeping forces on the obstructed section of the Goris-Stepanakert highway near Shushi. As a result, the citizens remained in that area for about 5 hours. After failed negotiations between the Russian side and the Azerbaijanis, the vehicles are now returning to Goris. According to reports, some Azerbaijanis even invaded one of the waiting vehicles. During the wait and negotiations, the condition of 4 civilians deteriorated, with 3 of them fainting. Accompanied by Russian peacekeepers, they were transferred to the Republican Medical Center in Stepanakert.
The other 23 civilians are returning to Goris,” he stated.
