US State Department Responds to Pashinyan's Statement
The U.S. State Department has commended Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is actively engaged in facilitating peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated on Twitter by State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel.
He noted that the U.S. is encouraged by the progress made towards establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
“We truly appreciate Nikol Pashinyan's message regarding this progress,” Patel said, commenting on the Armenian prime minister's statement from yesterday. It is worth recalling that Pashinyan wrote on his Twitter page: “There will be a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and it will be based on written agreements reached at the highest levels. There will be no new escalation. The international community must decisively support this narrative.”
