Andranik Kocharyan’s Remarkable Confession: Who is Being Bugged by the NSS
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "Andranik Kocharyan, the head of the National Assembly’s Defense and Security Committee, shone with another disgraceful statement yesterday. During a meeting of his committee, while discussing the possibility of wiretapping the Ministry of Internal Affairs and responding to the opposition's remarks that the NSS was doing little wiretapping, he declared that another authority has also been granted such powers. He stated, 'They are wiretapping us and they are doing well, let us live in a way that we will be out of the listening field. If they don’t listen, how will they know what someone thought, what happened to this country?'
Recall that wiretapping of any citizen is only permitted by court order and in the context of a criminal investigation. Andranik Kocharyan's jewels of yesterday do not end here; he declared that, fortunately, the era of barbed wire in Armenia is now a thing of the past, then pulled in the Minister of Internal Affairs, who also confirmed Kocharyan’s falsehood. This comes at a time when, after the war, barbed wire has been used against opposition members not only on the streets but also the walls of the parliamentary building have been covered with barbed wire.
