The War Could End by the Summer of 2027: Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has outlined possible timelines for the end of the war. He indicated that diplomacy could lead to its conclusion sometime between the G20 summit in December and the end of summer 2027.
Zelensky described this period as a "window of opportunity" for diplomatic efforts to put an end to the conflict. He emphasized that this phase is critical, as following the end of summer 2027, the U.S. presidential elections will begin.
If negotiators fail to reach an agreement before the U.S. elections, Zelensky stated that the reasons will be fully understood. He pointed out that Russian President Vladimir Putin aims to project power indefinitely and is resistant to any dialogue, instead seeking maximum escalation.
According to Zelensky, discussions on this issue are also ongoing with European leaders.
