Aliyev: Life for Armenians Living in Karabakh Will Be Better Than During Occupation
As previously reported, today the opening ceremony of the Global Forum in Baku took place, during which the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, delivered a speech. He stated that Azerbaijan is a tolerant, multi-religious, and multi-ethnic country where representatives of different religions and ethnic groups live peacefully and with dignity. The rights of minorities are protected by the Constitution.
“Therefore, I am confident that the life of Armenians living in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan will be much better than during the time of occupation. Every conflict has its own history, its dynamics, and its end. But it is important that disputes between countries are resolved based on international law, and territorial integrity and sovereignty cannot be changed by force,” Aliyev emphasized, assuring that there are no obstacles to achieving peace with Armenia.
Despite these statements, the so-called Karabakh region of Azerbaijan is merely a thesis from the Azerbaijani side, which has no relation to reality. In Azerbaijan, democracy is absent, and state-sponsored hatred against Armenians is still propagated in schools and kindergartens. This hatred has been promoted both before and after the war, while the Azerbaijani leader advances the thesis of peaceful coexistence.
