Call for Volkov's Resignation in Artsakh
The newspaper "Haykakan Jamanak" reports that following a terrorist incident in Artsakh on Sunday, which resulted in the deaths of three police officers, anti-Russian sentiments have once again surged in the region. Representatives from the public sector are planning to hold protests in front of the peacekeepers' headquarters, demanding the resignation of peacekeeping commander Andrey Volkov.
NGO sector representative Tigran Petrosyan has publicly demanded that the Artsakh authorities arm the locals for self-defense, highlighting that the incident occurred just three kilometers from the heart of Stepanakert.
It is worth noting that after the 44-day war, the Artsakh authorities had committed to providing weapons to residents of border communities, but they have yet to fulfill this promise. Following the recent diversions, an order has been issued to neutralize the attacking terrorists, whose bodies have been left at the crime scene. The recovery of the bodies was only permitted after negotiations by Russian peacekeepers.
