EU Ambassadors Struggle to Finalize Tenth Package of Sanctions Against Russia
According to publications, the disagreement has arisen over a proposal to include a ban on the import of Russian synthetic rubber in the sanctions package, which is also used in tire production. This was reported by Politico.
Countries opposed to the ban include Italy, Germany, and Poland.
In 2021, the EU imported $700 million worth of synthetic rubber produced in Russia.
