Defeated Armenia Aimed to Disconnect Azerbaijan's Main Electric Power Center on the Battlefield: Aliyev

The importance of the Mingachevir power plant became evident once again during the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War.

This was stated by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. According to Azerbaijani news outlets, the leader of the aggressor country claimed that at that time, defeated Armenia had also shelled Azerbaijani civilian facilities, including the Mingachevir power plant, which was targeted by long-range missiles.

“Many of those missiles were destroyed by Azerbaijan's air defense systems, while some did not hit the target. This means that the defeated Armenia aimed to disconnect Azerbaijan's main electric power center. But they were unable to achieve that,” said Aliyev.
