Pashinyan's Remarkable Statement in Parliament
According to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made noteworthy statements in parliament yesterday. Responding to a question from Civil Contract faction member Hripsime Grigoryan, Pashinyan discussed the EU mission's visit to Armenia and made remarks that contradicted previous statements.
He essentially attempted to explain why, as he put it, the CSTO observer mission is not arriving in Armenia, while the EU observer mission is coming. According to Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijan justified its aggressive actions by arguing that Armenia, specifically the Prime Minister of Armenia, is increasingly bringing and deploying Russian troops along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and is preparing for a joint aggressive attack against Azerbaijan. Consequently, Azerbaijan is attempting to balance the situation through its assaults.
“In the West, an attempt was made to portray Armenia as a participant in Russia's aggressive policies, while in Russia, Armenia was represented as part of a Western conspiracy. We also said, very well, come, you can observe on the ground whether all this corresponds to reality or not; this is one of the important nuances,” emphasized the Prime Minister.
This statement is remarkable to the extent that it has been mentioned for a long time that the EU mission is coming to monitor the Armenian border to guarantee against Azerbaijani aggression and document possible violations. It turns out to be quite the opposite. They are coming to ensure that we are not planning to attack Azerbaijan and, moreover, to monitor the movement of Russian troops.
