Sweden Allocates $657,000 to Assist Turkey and Syria After Earthquake
Sweden is allocating 7 million kronor ($657,000) to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to aid emergency relief efforts in Turkey and Syria following the recent earthquakes. This was announced at a press conference on Monday by Civil Protection Minister Carl-Oscar Bolin. Stockholm is also sending tents, equipment, and temporary shelters to those affected, along with expert assistance.
The government emphasizes that it is prepared to provide additional support to Turkey and Syria if necessary.
Denmark has also announced a donation of 10 million kronor ($1.44 million) to Turkey and Syria. The funds will be directed towards providing water, food, and tents for the affected, as well as assistance for those impacted by the earthquakes. The money will be distributed through organizations that Denmark collaborates with. The Danish government notes that the amount of aid may increase.
