Cristiano Ronaldo Joins Al-Nassr: Family Attends Official Ceremony
Portuguese national team forward Cristiano Ronaldo has officially completed his transfer to Al-Nassr. On Tuesday, January 3, the 37-year-old footballer attended his first press conference at the Saudi club in Riyadh. During the conference, the star forward made headlines by stating that he would be playing in South Africa. In reality, Al-Nassr is a club based in Saudi Arabia.
“It’s normal for me to continue my career in South Africa; I don’t care about people’s opinions on this topic,” Ronaldo said during the press conference. Additionally, Cristiano Ronaldo made several more bold statements, notably declaring that his story in Europe was over.
“My time in European football is over. I won everything I could. This is a new challenge. I had offers from Brazil, Australia, the USA, and Portugal, but I promised Al-Nassr that I would go to them. This is not the end for me. The Saudi Arabian league is very challenging. I know that people do not recognize this. I am here to change the mindset and how people see football in Saudi Arabia,” Ronaldo stated.
Ronaldo also referred to himself as a unique player. “I am a unique player. I have broken all records in Europe, and I will do it here. Because I am a unique player. For me, this is normal. I have a unique contract because I am a unique player,” he said.
Following the press conference, Cristiano Ronaldo's official presentation took place. The star Portuguese player appeared before fans wearing the number '7' for Al-Nassr. According to reports, approximately 30,000 people attended Ronaldo's presentation at Mrsool Park stadium. Admission to the arena cost three pounds, and all proceeds will go to charity.
