Bayramov on Tensions in Azerbaijan-Iran Relations
Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has stated that there is noticeable tension in Azerbaijan-Iran relations.
“Recently, there has been some tension in Azerbaijan-Iran relations. I would not like to dramatize the situation. The agreements reached in the economic sphere are being implemented. Can Azerbaijan-Iran relations be better under the current circumstances? Azerbaijan has never been an advocate for the escalation of these relations. We have had numerous discussions with my Iranian counterpart, who has also expressed support for the development of relations. Azerbaijan's position is that relations should develop in an atmosphere of mutual respect and non-interference in each other's affairs,” Bayramov said.
