Benzema Rejects Macron's Invitation
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has turned down an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron to travel together to the World Cup final in Qatar. This was reported by ESPN.
Benzema had the opportunity to fly to Doha on the presidential plane with Macron but chose to decline the offer.
The striker suffered an injury just before the tournament began and was unable to assist the French national team in Qatar. On Friday, Benzema posted a photo on Instagram with the caption "I don't care," which likely refers to the invitation.
According to sources from ESPN, Benzema "fully supports the team and wants them to win this title, which will somehow also belong to him." The final match is scheduled for December 18, where the reigning champions, France, will face off against Argentina.
