Fog, Black Ice, Closed Roads: The Situation in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads throughout the Republic of Armenia.
In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station to the Amberd fortress and the K'ari lake are closed.
As of 23:00, the restoration work on the M-2-Aghvani-Tatev-M-2 interstate road has been temporarily suspended, and traffic has been restored in both directions.
There is black ice on the road from Verin Khotana to Tatev in the Syunik region.
Fog is present in the Aparan region and in the cities of Berd and Chambarak, as well as on the Lanjik-Mastara road, and in the high-altitude areas of Syunik.
According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia's Emergency Management Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' crisis management center in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
