Aliyev Affirms Commitment to EU-Supported Format Says Toivo Klaar
Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, made a post on his Twitter page summarizing his visit to Baku at the end of last week. He stated, “The President of Azerbaijan has affirmed his commitment to the EU-supported format. However, many challenges remain unresolved. Restraint and strong political will are required from both Azerbaijan and Armenia to de-escalate tensions and achieve comprehensive resolution.”
It is noteworthy that on November 25, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that the planned meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on December 7 in Brussels will not take place, as the Armenian side agrees to the meeting on the condition that the President of France also participates.
