Putin-Aliyev Meeting Underway
The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has begun in Sochi, as reported by the RIA Novosti agency.
This bilateral meeting is taking place ahead of a trilateral meeting that will also include Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Earlier, Pashinyan had a one-on-one conversation with Putin.
As a result of the trilateral meeting, a document is expected to be adopted that will form the basis for resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
After his conversation with the Russian president, Pashinyan stated that he finds Moscow's proposed draft regarding the Karabakh issue acceptable.
Russian media outlets do not rule out that the parties in Sochi may agree to extend the Russian peacekeeping mission's mandate for another 10-20 years.
