Peskov: Putin Has Not Sent Any Message to Zelensky Regarding Negotiations
The Kremlin has denied claims made by Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo regarding sending a special message to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about a possible dialogue. According to TASS agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that the President of Guinea-Bissau merely expressed a desire that, should contacts take place, he would relay Putin's position to the Ukrainian side.
Peskov emphasized that Russia is ready to secure its interests at the negotiating table, but Kyiv completely refuses this. Earlier, the press service of the Ukrainian president had released a joint press conference between Vladimir Zelensky and the African President of Guinea-Bissau, during which the latter made the following statement: “Yesterday, I met President Putin in Russia, and he asked me to speak with you and send a message. He told me he is ready to negotiate with President Zelensky,” said Umaro Sissoco Embalo.
In response to this statement, Zelensky pointed out that instead of words, Russia has deployed Iranian drones against Ukraine.
